Penguin Catcher is a simple arcade game based off the popular crane games and UFO catchers where children operate a mechanical claw in order to win prizes. You'll find Penguin Catcher to be much more fair that the quarter-munchers of old, but all the same be prepared for a serious challenge at the highest speeds!

The game can be played right here on this page via webMSX or can be downloaded to play on your own computer. The minimum requirements are:

  • MSX (any generation) with 64KB RAM

Also recommended is a paddle controller or mouse, although this game is also playable with a joypad or keyboard. Please note that the mouse is only supported for MSX2 and above, and the paddle requires TRNEWDRV.COM to be ran first before playing on a Turbo-R. Version 1.2 adds support for the SEGA Saturn 3D Pad, or Multi-Controller, connected via this adapter or by daisy-chaining a JoyMega adapter with a Saturn to Genesis/Mega Drive controller adapter. Never insert a SEGA controller directly into an MSX without the appropriate adapter.
